September Workshop
Come and join me for a workshop on Digital Garden and Plant Photography. To be held at the wonderful Dorothy Clive Garden on the Shropshire / Staffordshire border. It takes place on Saturday 17th September and runs from 10.00am through to 4.00 pm. A delicious buffet lunch will be laid on by the catering team at the garden. The workshop is aimed at those who have a DSLR camera and want to learn how to improve their garden photography. The day will cover taking control of your camera (get it out of Auto or Program mode),shooting in RAW, using light and reflectors, composition, depth of field and getting the images from camera and ready for print. The day will start with an introduction followed by some theory and ideas to try. Participants will then be able to go out into the garden to photograph and I will be on hand to help and advise. Towards the end of the day we will review our work and look at how we can optimise the images for print.
Please note limited places available to ensure all paticipants receive some individual attention.

I have got my first feature in a national magazine. Six pages in 'The English Garden' magazine on Brook Farm in Worcestershire. This is the same garden that featured on the cover of the NGS 2011 Yellow Book. I am absolutley thrilled to bits and hope this will help my application when I apply for full membership of the Garden Media Guild and the Professional Garden Photographers' Association.

A great day in London at the Press Launch of the NGS Yellow Book 2011. One of my pictures was chosen to grace the front cover and I had another 5 images inside, which was very gratifying! I was presented with a framed copy of the cover as well, which is a delightful momento of the occassion. Also saw Andrea Jones which was a lovely surprise.

Exciting news!
I have just found out that a picture I submitted has been chosen for the front cover of the 2011 Yellow Book of the NGS.
Forthcoming Exhibition
Building on the work I had published in 'Shropshire Life', I have secured an exhibition at Dorothy Clive Gardens which will run from 7th June for two weeks.

My first full feature published in Shropshire Life magazine today. They have used ten of my pictures for a feature on Dorothy Clive Gardens. Hopefully this will count towards me becoming a full member of the Professional Garden Photographers Association and Garden Media Guild. Onward and upward (hopefully!)

Just heard that one of my images of Magnolia acuminata 'Koban Dori' has been selected to go forward into the Three Counties Open Photographic exhibition at Keele University. The exhibition will run from 19th Feb through to 24th March with the winning entries announced at the preview evening on 18th Feb. This is the second time I have been selected and having seen the fantastic work at last year's event I am absolutely delighted!
